Hi {{first_name}} ,

Mykola here.

We worked together on a design, Webflow, or Wordpress project at some point, and I kept your email.

I hope that's fine - if not, I added the unsubscribe button at the bottom.

I'm starting a small newsletter. Conversion & Design Bytes: one short email every two weeks, one thing I've seen change conversion on a real site, explained in a few paragraphs.

No trend lists. No "10 tools you need".

Here's the first one, so this isn't just an announcement.

Most SaaS landing pages I audit have a hero button that says "Get started".

It sounds fine. But it asks for a commitment before the visitor knows what they're committing to, and that's where the curious-but-not-ready people leave.

Take Tempo, an AI marketing platform I redesigned earlier this year.

One product, but the button changes from page to page.

  • The email page says "Start Free Trial".

  • The solo-founder page says "Create Your First Campaign".

  • The AI page - "Put your AI to work".

  • The Shopify page - "Start Creating".

  • One page still says "Get Started For Free", and it's the one I'd change next.

Every one of these names the thing that actually happens after the click. Someone landing on the AI page and someone landing on pricing aren't in the same headspace, so why would they get the same button?

That's basically the whole rule. The button should say what you get, not what you have to do.

Look at your own hero button today. If it names a commitment instead of an outcome, that's the easiest test you can run this week.

That's the format. The next one comes in two weeks.

And if these aren't for you - no hard feelings. The unsubscribe link is at the bottom- one click, done.
